As a blogger I travel around the internet stopping at numerous places during the week to read the work of others and to share some of what I find in this ongoing weekly series. This is a form of networking that I thoroughly enjoy because it leads to meeting so many people from all over the globe. That’s pretty cool considering you never have to leave your office.

This year has just begun and there is a lot going on, not only for me, but all around the net. People are busily getting off to a great start and it shows.

Wow can you believe we have closed out another decade?

Time flies when you’re having fun, is what they say.

As usual, I like to list a few of my stops that I enjoyed during the week. They are always randomly listed and I could never list them all, but here are a few.

The Blog Master David Risley has made not only this week, but the entire year a fantastic blogging experience for me. I’ve learned a ton from this guy and could not close out the year without mentioning that. Thanks for all you do man.

Brian over at the fast growing BE posted the winners of the Year End Contest

My 100th Post was put up by Hulbert Lee. A nice look back, this blogger is here to stay.

I came across Don doing a guest post video at Ben Lang’s blog. I was impressed with his style in the video, he’s a natural. You can check it out here at How to Tell what Theme your Favorite Blog is using.

I have met a lot of great bloggers again this week; it is amazing the level of energy out there. I have written about this often but again, the class of 2009 has many talented up-and-coming bloggers who have the love for this and I look forward to interacting with many of them in the years ahead.

Let me start with an announcement that I am both proud of and happy to see. @MikeCJ and @NathanHangen provided an update for the release of their soon to be available book “Beyond Blogging”.

The book launches on December 28^th and you can read more about it here. I know these guys have worked their tootsies off, illustrating how we bloggers can really accomplish something significant with hard work and perseverance. Congrats fellas!

The process of closing out this year and looking ahead has begun for many. A time of both reflection and anticipation has arrived.

There is a look into next year with Pete Cashmore’s 10 Web trends to watch in 2010 over on CNN Tech.  Here he talks about internet TV, cloud computing and a number of other interesting topics.

Black Friday and Cyber Monday have come and gone so the Holiday shopping season is now in full swing. You can bet that electronic gadgets are high on everyone’s lists, mine included.

Google made a splash this week with their announcement of their public DNS server.

They are also making a run at mobile computing. Android cell phones were handed out to some surprised recipients at a recent conference. You can read about that here.

We begin the Week in Review with the big story, the internet’s 40th birthday. There were hundreds of posts about this, as you can imagine, but I chose Mashable’s Happy 40th Birthday Internet! by Stan Schroeder. This is a very nice look back in time, which I enjoyed.

Speaking of Mashable, Pete Cashmore, it’s founder is now a CNN contributor, writing a weekly column on social networking and tech. Congrats Pete! You can read his “Privacy is dead, and social media hold smoking gun” here.
