Well put, Ryan.
I think many are overwhelmed and surprised by the amount of work required to really build a blog into a successful venture. It's more than just writing posts.

Real Living starts outside the comfort zone. Change is good. It proves that you're alive, and experiencing life. Change lies outside of the comfort zone. To achieve things in life you must change, and in some case change radically. It all sounds so simple but people are ruled by their emotions. The more something feels uncomfortable the more we avoid it. Hence the fact that the majority of people live in a comfort zone no matter how mierable they are.

As for blogging you just have to get started. Now. Later isn't good enough because later usually winds up being never.

Great post Jimi.

You're right there Mike, a serious sacrifice has to be made in order to realize your dreams. This is common in just about everything.

Look at the top entertainers of the world, all that fame and fortune. They didn't get there by cruising, they too worked like hell to make themselves what they have become.

Those that want easy, may have to keep that 9 to 5.

Good points Jimi. I think the problem is many people have the dream of going full time but aren't prepared to put in the unbelievable amount of work, while still working full time, to get to the point where they can seriously contemplate it.

If you look at the current crop of top bloggers, one thing you'll find in common is that they all spent a significant period working ridiculous hours to establish themselves. I've learned this from some research I'm doing for a book I'm writing.

So my advice is to get the family on side, explain to them that it's going to be tough for a few months, and then work until your eyes bleed towards an objective date for going full time.
