The Week in Review

By

dreamstime_8351611Each week in this series we will highlight some of my internet travels and stops along the information highway that added value to the community as a whole.

The idea is to share with you some of the wonderful things about the online life.

The week ending Sunday November 1st 2009

We begin the Week in Review with the big story, the internet’s 40th birthday. There were hundreds of posts about this, as you can imagine, but I chose Mashable’s Happy 40th Birthday Internet! by Stan Schroeder. This is a very nice look back in time, which I enjoyed.

Speaking of Mashable, Pete Cashmore, it’s founder is now a CNN contributor, writing a weekly column on social networking and tech. Congrats Pete! You can read his “Privacy is dead, and social media hold smoking gun” here.

Stops along the way
I make a lot of blog visits during the week and here are a few of my stops along the way. Everybody knows about the big dogs, but what about the up and comers who are busting their tails to become great bloggers?

Here’s a little love for those efforts.

No problem, Lisa. You were kind enough to put in a good deal of your time to produce those reports from #BWE09. I really appreciated the effort.

Besides, the cost of admission was just right :-)
