Maintaining That Focus

By

Digital EyeMany bloggers keep themselves under a degree of pressure with regard to updating their blogs and performing other blog building associated tasks.

Blogging is sort of like running a one-man production company where you have daily deadlines and everything remains fluid and in need of attention.

When they said blogging will change your life, they were not kidding. :-)

When I started blogging earlier this year, I had committed to transitioning into a full-time professional blogger, so I began by fitting my blogging activities into my life. Now, It is other activities that are fit into my life as blogging has become my main focus.

Don’t get me wrong, I still enjoy life to the fullest and have not become a stone cold drag as yet, but I am very selective about what I can commit to in terms of travel, social events and the like.

I still do all of those things, but to a lesser degree. It’s a change that had to be made in order to get to where I am going. The trail to pro blogging is a long one, perhaps not so much in time, but in tasks and actionable strategies.

These all take a good deal of time to implement and even more time to realize the benefits of your efforts. You can see it all coming together but you know that the train with the payoff is a long way around the bend.

A sense of accomplishment comes regularly as you implement yet another tool or tactic, each giving you a boost to do more, work a little harder and continue to build what you have envisioned.

I visit and read a lot of blogs, which serves as a continuing education for me, which is free by the way, and this experience also motivates me to do more. There are so many top notch blogs in my area of interest (blogging and social media) that it is a real pleasure to be a part of this niche at this particular point in time on the internet.

The one thing that I would share with you about blogging, particularly in the early days and what I would call your rookie season is that your largest asset will be focus. If you can master the art of maintaining your focus, the rest will take care of itself.

Focus on the next step in the progression to accomplishing the task at hand. Take small steps, but continue to step forward. Blogging is not for the quick or those who are in a hurry, which is why so many give up after a matter of months.

Establish a comfortable pace, maintain that focus and continue to take the actions you know are necessary to position yourself for success.

It’s so true, you need to focus and put first things first and do the most important things before the more comfortable.

Thanks for your comment, Blaine.

You are correct, doing the important things first is a must. Only then can you even begin to realize the more comfortable tasks and situations.
